Meet Amaya Brown, Head of A&R for NCEG’s Kennesaw State University Chapter

At the heart of every great artist is someone who sees them early—who understands the vision before the world catches on. For the Kennesaw State University chapter of the National Collegiate Entertainers Group (NCEG), that person is Amaya Brown, the newly appointed Head of A&R.

With a powerful blend of creative instinct, leadership energy, and a deep respect for the artist development process, Amaya is stepping into her role ready to scout, support, and elevate the next wave of talent at KSU.

The Ears and the Energy Behind the Artists

“I’m excited to take on this role because I’ve always had a strong connection to the music and the people who make it,” Amaya shared during her joint interview on The Process podcast. “A&R isn’t just about picking talent. It’s about building trust, developing strategy, and helping artists evolve.”

She joins the Kennesaw chapter during a critical expansion phase—when the need for intentional leadership is just as important as the talent itself.

“We’ve got artists on campus with the voice, the pen, and the look. They just need a team that sees them and can guide them,” she explained. “That’s what I’m here for.”

What the Head of A&R Does

The A&R department is the lifeblood of any NCEG chapter. Certified Entertainers—the students chosen to represent the music and brand of each school—are handpicked, mentored, and managed by the A&R team.

As Head of A&R, Amaya is responsible for:

  • Auditioning and recruiting artists to join the Certified Entertainers roster

  • Helping artists shape their sound, visuals, and performance strategy

  • Coordinating with Media, Events, and Audio for campaign execution

  • Maintaining the standard of excellence across all musical output

A Collaborative Approach to Leadership

Amaya isn’t just taking on this role solo. She’s building connections across the NCEG network—tapping in with other leaders like Cordell Latham, Head of Audio at Georgia State, to exchange strategies and strengthen regional collaborations.

“It’s inspiring seeing how other schools are operating,” she said. “But now it’s time for Kennesaw to step up and show what we’ve got.”

Her approach centers on authenticity, discipline, and culture—making sure that artists not only feel seen but are truly ready to grow and compete at the next level.

Building a Roster That Reflects the Culture

Auditions are already underway, and Amaya is looking for more than just talent—she’s looking for drive, consistency, and coachability.

“If you’re serious about your craft, I want to work with you,” she said. “Let’s build something that lasts beyond the campus.”

Support the People Who Develop the Talent

The NCEG mission is bigger than music—it's about infrastructure, access, and equity for student creatives. A&R leaders like Amaya Brown are the ones putting in the work behind the scenes to make sure artists don’t just get opportunities—they’re ready for them.

Donate today to help fund student artist development, leadership training, and real-world creative experience.

With Amaya Brown leading A&R, Kennesaw’s chapter isn’t just building a roster—it’s building a movement.
This is what leadership in music looks like.
This is NCEG.

Jantonomi Is Building a Global Sound—One Chapter at a Time

Jantonomi Is Building a Global Sound—One Chapter at a Time At a moment when many emerging artists are still finding their footing, Jantonomi is already operating with the clarity and discipline of someone far beyond his years. A freshman at Georgia State University , Jantonomi is an artist, producer, and Certified Entertainer with the first chapter of the National Collegiate Entertainers Group (NCEG) —and his journey into music started long before college ever entered the picture. “I think when I first really started messing around making music, I was probably in like second grade,” he recalls. “I grew up watching my older brother make music, and I was always just surrounded by sound.” That early exposure turned into hands-on experimentation when he saved up for his first laptop and installed FL Studio—still in elementary school. From that point forward, music wasn’t a hobby. It was a constant. “I’ve been releasing music since around 2020,” he says. “It’s been about six years th...
