Norell Mays Named Head of Events for NCEG’s Atlanta University Center Chapter

The National Collegiate Entertainers Group (NCEG) is proud to welcome Norell Mays as the newly appointed Head of Events for the Atlanta University Center (AUC) Chapter, serving Morehouse College, Spelman College, Clark Atlanta University, and Morris Brown College.

Norell brings to this role not just a passion for event strategy and planning, but a proven background in partnerships, sponsorships, and creative coordination — making him a critical force in helping shape how the AUC chapter shows up on and off campus.

A Creator with Vision, Strategy, and Soul

For Norell, this work is personal.

“I’m real big on strategy and coordinating,” he explained during his interview. “I love putting on events — whether it's mixers, productions, or small, intimate things where we're just interacting with each other.”

He describes his love for watching ideas turn into real-life moments:

“For me, it all falls into line with putting things on paper, building out a proposal, and then seeing it all come to life in visual format. That’s what I love.”

This mindset is exactly what NCEG’s events department is about: turning concepts into culture, and using every experience as a tool for community-building and impact.

Real Experience, Real Execution

Norell’s resume already speaks volumes. From his role on Spelman’s Campus Alliance for Student Activities (CASA) to planning major back-to-school drives and art gallery exhibitions in New York, he’s no stranger to high-stakes logistics.

“I've been in meetings for collaborations with sponsors like Snipes and Google,” he shared. “I’ve worked with small businesses and shadowed mentors in Atlanta to learn how to pitch properly. I’ve seen what works, and I’ve executed ideas at scale.”

Whether partnering with a YMCA and local barbershop for a community giveback event or helping a brand grow through LinkedIn strategies, Norell has built a track record on planning, pitching, and partnerships.

What the Head of Events Really Does

At NCEG, events aren’t just activities — they’re the frontline of influence and fundraising. The Head of Events is responsible for:

  • Creating and executing chapter-wide events and activations

  • Coordinating sponsorships and partnerships

  • Driving ticket sales and engagement

  • Collaborating with A&R, Media, and PR for full-circle execution

  • Leading the strategy for both on-campus and off-campus productions

As Norell steps into this leadership role, he’ll also join a network of event directors from chapters at Georgia State and Kennesaw State, giving him space to collaborate, compete, and create at a high level.

“The Goal is Not Just the Party—It’s the Purpose”

Events are a cornerstone of NCEG’s scholarship strategy — raising funds and building the infrastructure to provide opportunities for high school students who want to pursue careers in entertainment.

“I understand what these events are really about,” Norell said. “We’re raising visibility and funding something bigger than ourselves.”

That’s why his leadership matters. Norell’s not here just to run events — he’s here to build platforms and pass the mic forward.

Jantonomi Is Building a Global Sound—One Chapter at a Time

Jantonomi Is Building a Global Sound—One Chapter at a Time At a moment when many emerging artists are still finding their footing, Jantonomi is already operating with the clarity and discipline of someone far beyond his years. A freshman at Georgia State University , Jantonomi is an artist, producer, and Certified Entertainer with the first chapter of the National Collegiate Entertainers Group (NCEG) —and his journey into music started long before college ever entered the picture. “I think when I first really started messing around making music, I was probably in like second grade,” he recalls. “I grew up watching my older brother make music, and I was always just surrounded by sound.” That early exposure turned into hands-on experimentation when he saved up for his first laptop and installed FL Studio—still in elementary school. From that point forward, music wasn’t a hobby. It was a constant. “I’ve been releasing music since around 2020,” he says. “It’s been about six years th...
